I'd been visiting this  beautiful place twice  during our faculty retreat/seminar.and I'm so thankful to Nuestra Seniora Delas Nieves School for the opportunity to reach this place. Now I am also highly recommending this place if you are looking for a venue for seminar/training at the heart of Bacolod City? please consider Scala Retreat House in Negros Occidental.  Scala Retreat House is the best place to go. It is one of the three Redemptorist Retreat Houses, one is located at Lahug Cebu City and the other one is in La Paz, Iloilo City.

Closer to Nature:

The green beautiful entrance of the Scala Retreat House will make you feel at home and immediately feels closer to nature. The ambiance is so cool and peaceful ideal for seminar/retreat activities. This is an old house with two storey building. I had the opportunity to attend  twice for 1 week retreat  on this place with the NSDN faculty and I should be thankful to Sis. Teresita who is the principal of the school. I really like the services and foods as well as the accommodating staff and sisters in charge. This place is accessible to SM city it takes 45 minutes to travel via jeepney.

If you choose the most practical venue in Bacolod you might consider for your training or retreat is the SCALA Retreat House in Bacolod City. At the rate of 500++/person , you are already entitled to use the training hall,room,3 meals and 2 snacks. This rate is inclusive of the use of electric fans. Air-condition units are available on a per hour basis.The food is great too and yummy.

St. Clement's Retreat House is located in Western Visayas, at La Paz, Iloilo City. I had  the opportunity to visit this retreat house during our Pscho-spiritual seminar that lasted for almost one week. I like very much the green surrounding of the environment and it's accessible to mall and main city.

They owned a small cemetery  at the back side of the compound for those who preferred cremation services. I stayed during all saints day and all souls day  and I had witnessed famous celebrities visiting in this cemetery.

From Iloilo pier you can take taxi to travel for only 15 minutes the fare is only  P80  but if you are familiar with the jeepney route  it might be good  idea to save money. Short Background of the Redemptorist Retreat House

The retreat ministry involves Redemptorists in conducting retreats and recollections for the clergy, religious and laity amongs whom the youth have a special place. Through this ministry, the Redemptorists strive to lead people to greater awareness of their Christian calling and witnessing to their vocation as lay people in their own ecclesial communities. This ministry is carried out in our own retreat houses or elsewhere.

There are three Redemptorist retreat houses in the Southern Phillipines: the Redemptorist Retreat House (Holy Family) in Cebu, the Scala Retreat House in Bacolod, and the St. Clement’s Retreat House in Iloilo.

Their Retreat Houses serve the local Church through retreats and seminars for the diocesan  clergy, religious and lay people. They give preference to retreats and seminars organized by the poor.

The Retreat Houses are creating an atmosphere conducive to prayer, personal reflection, sharing, liturgical celebration. They strive to bring about a change in attitude, integration of faith and life, richer family living and greater social awareness.

In line with our option for the poor, they make available our retreat houses to the poor, especially those from our mission areas and other apostolates.

This place is very nice their dining hall is large and wide, the rooms are well ventilated and spacious, the garden is safe to roam around with security guards. The rooms on the second floor is nice and you can open the window for beautiful overlooking of the Cebu city at night. There is a security guard  24 hours.

The road may look foggy and things may seem uncertain. But one thing is for sure - HE WHO BRINGS YOU TO IT WILL LEAD YOU THROUGH IT. Let the Holy spirit be your Guide.

This saying is famous and  it’s true it happened to me when I was invited to visit to Holy Spirit Shrine located in Iligan city. This is the first time I traveled to this place and I really felt nervous but  with the prayer and trusting the Holy Spirit to guide me I successfully reached the place fine and safe.

Where is Iligan City? And How to get there.

 

The first thing that will come into your mind is to think where is really Iigan City and how to get there. Laguindingan Airport is the main airport that serves the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, as well as the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon in Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

Based on my travel experience, from Manila I travel  by plane via Cebu Pacific Airline and landed at Laguindingan airport in Cagayan de Oro. Upon exiting the arrival  gate area at the airport I go straight to the ticketing area for  van of  super five bus and paid P195.00 including bus transfer fare from Laguindingan bus terminal to Integrated Bus Terminal at Iligan City.

If you noticed, there is a bus transfer  from the airport  it’s because Laguindingan Airport is quite far from the main city of  Iligan. It takes  5 – 8 minutes for the super five van  going to Laguindingan bus terminal and  2 hours super five bus travel to Integrated bus terminal at Iligan City.  You can also take a boat via To go Travel but it takes 3 days to arrive at Iligan City from Manila.

The Holy Spirit Shrine

It’s a blessings that I was invited to this place for a search in seminar. This place is located at mountainous area of Pindungangan, Tipanoy Iligan City. You can reach this place via habal-habal, taxi or private car. There is no jeepney that passes by on this place only habal –habal  ride for  P100 from the city proper of Iligan. There are a lots of habal-habal terminal in the city like  near Gaisano Mall, infront of Robinson’s mall and many other  places in the streets.

Once you arrived at  Holy Spirit Shrine you will be amazed by it’s beautiful location and the place is also a venue for  retreats and other spiritual activities. They have a chapel inside  which offer mass to the public every Thursday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 10am. There is also a small store in front for those who want to avail souvenirs from this place.

They have also a pre school building in front the street for  free to students in that community.
